  • Steve & Donna mirabella

    mission directors, Tanzania

Stephen and Donna Mirabella have served in Tanzania since 1998. In 2009, the door opened to return to Tanzania on mission to reach the hidden tribes of Tanzania’s southwest. Since, they have seen entire villages saved by the power of God’s grace, many miraculously healed of disease, and native Tanzanian fire-brands run with the gospel to their own people. Their singular heart is for the kingdom of God to be established and carried to the farthest reaches of Tanzania by native sons and daughters. Stephen and Donna's experience ranges from building a bible college, to training nationals for international missions as well as local church ministry, through leading bush expeditions in some of East Africa's most remote regions. Graduates of Overland Missions’ 2011 Advanced Mission Training, they are fluent Kiswahili speakers. They are both ordained ministers through In The Hands of God Ministries. Parents of four, the Mirabellas are proud to see all of their children serving the Lord—several in world missions.

  • S & J

    mission directors, 10/40 Window

S & J met in Tanzania while living in missionary families. Since the beginning, their heart's desire has been to reach the lost. S & J have been serving and living in the 10/40 window for over 13 years, and currently reside in a nation that is 99.6% Islamic. It is considered one of the largest unreached nations in the world. They have assisted in distributing over 100,000 New Testaments and have often clashed with elements hostile to the gospel. Their service has spanned pastoring an international youth group, ministering to Gypsies and persecuted minorities, and facilitating outreach teams. The work is now growing into the third region of the nation, where they again will build up a local church community by helping to evangelize and disciple a core of new believers. Their vision to start a safe house has now served refugee families, victims of human trafficking, and other missionaries.

"God has put many things on our hearts and we pray they all come to fruition. Please join us in prayer to see souls come into the Kingdom!"   - S & J

  • Javen & Caitlin Mirabella

    global missions > internship directors

From 2011 to 2016, Javen and Caitlin served as members of Team Tanzania, ministering to the unreached in remote villages in East Africa. While serving in Tanzania, they created and implemented the Immerse Internship program for missionaries-in-training in 2016. Upon completion of their initial 5 year ministry commitment, they transitioned to be based in the USA while launching missions to multiple continents, serving as global missionaries, with emphasis on evangelistic and discipleship training and support. In 2017, the Lord birthed the Immerse The Nations team, partnering the Mirabellas with the Beal and Prouty families. The team has a four-fold focus:

    1. THE UNREACHED: Share the gospel with, and disciple those who have never heard.

    2. THE CHURCH: Pour into existing church communities wherever they need to be awakened or encouraged.

    3. IMMERSE COMMUNITY: Lead a stateside group of believers who minister out of intimacy with the Lord and unified community.

    4. IMMERSE INTERNSHIP: Equip missionaries-in-training through a three month program, leading them through a curriculum of biblical studies with a focus of hands on missions experience in a variety of global platforms.

“Following the blueprint of the early church, our goal is to minister out of a place of community with other believers and personal intimacy and communion with Christ, bringing the Kingdom to a lost world.” - Javen & Caitlin Mirabella

  • Esprit tafelski

    team member, Tanzania

Esprit Tafelski spent 4 years serving in her local church's youth and worship ministries, and acted in her church’s drama team throughout middle school and high school. She has shared the gospel through drama and music around the world.

In 2015, Esprit volunteered with a team serving TNT to help build a church in a remote village in Tanzania. At the time, it was way out of her comfort zone, but upon returning to America, a desire to return to East Africa for a longer mission emerged in her heart. Esprit went back to Tanzania in 2016, completing TNT's 3 month Immerse Internship. Her love for the Tanzanian people has only grown, causing Esprit to join Team Tanzania.

Esprit’s personal ministry vision: "To reach out to the orphans, bring love to the unloved and unlovable, and to extend Jesus’ hand of hope to those struggling with alcohol and drug addiction."

  • denis artyushevskiy

    TEAM MEMBER, Tanzania

Denis' relationship with the Lord began at the age of 16; since then, he has been led by the Spirit to Africa. After working with youth in the church, he took a step of faith and attended bible school in 2014. That was where the Lord revealed His plan for Denis to serve on the mission field. In June of that year, he flew to Tanzania and went on to become a crusade leader, organizing events and leading teams in church planting.

Denis was introduced to TNT while in Tanzania and was able to partner with us on various projects and outreaches. A strategic connection was made and Denis has now merged with Touching Nations Today as part of our missionary team serving in East Africa.

"The Lord has revealed himself to me in many ways and has taught me the different voices and natures that He has. He came to find me, and now I never want to live for myself again. My goal is to eventually travel the world sharing my testimony and the greatness of God. But for now, my season is in Africa."   - Denis Artyushevskiy

our training

It is critically important for TNT missionaries to be effective and protected in all phases of ministry and life. In differing work and regions, there are varying demands placed on our teams in their regular daily lives. We make sure all of our missionaries are prepared to endure in the service they are called to. The background and training of our missionaries is both diverse and exhaustive. Several have completed YWAM's Discipleship Training School (DTS), School of Evangelism (SOE), and School of Islamic Studies (SIS), while others have completed Advanced Mission Training (AMT) with Overland Missions. We also have team members placed with degrees in theology and ministry, and extensive backgrounds in pastoral and full-time church ministry. Seven of our missionaries have completed SOLO's Wilderness First Responder (WFR) medical training course as a part of AMT. Our missionaries know how to surrender to the Holy Spirit and how to physically survive the harshest environments or crisis.
